Fall Leaves

(I'm writing this post in December, but we learned about leaves a few months ago ...in October)!

Who doesn't love the fall season?!  It's, of course, the perfect time to learn about leaves.  I like to throw in a nonfiction book every once in a while and fall is a good time to do that.  

Here are a few nonfiction books about fall that have very short and simple sentences:




Our fun fall activity was leaf rubbings!

All that's needed for this activity are: a sheet of paper, crayons with the paper removed, and leaves!

We placed the leaves directly under the paper with the veins side up.  We laid our crayons horizontally on the paper and began to color with a bit of pressure.  The image of the leaf will begin to magically appear.
